“Dot brand” TLDs: Afnic reveals the exclusive results of its perception survey |
| In September 2024, Afnic commissioned an independent nationwide survey to evaluate knowledge and perception of brand TLDs and their attractiveness. Carried out by consultants MV2, this study covered 2,000 French Internet users, mainly (56%) in employment and aged between 18 and 60.The results were revealed exclusively at the annual event of the Cercle des .marque (the “Brand TLD Club”) on 21 November 2024. |

| Launched five years ago by Afnic, the Cercle des .marque is the French reference discussion community dedicated to custom brand TLDs. | RPP, a future protocol for creating and managing domain names? |
| Most of the major domain name registries currently receive requests to create or change these domain names through the EPP, i.e. Extensible Provisioning Protocol. Registrars use this protocol to communicate with the registry. However, plans are afoot to replace EPP with RPP (RESTful Provisioning Protocol). Since these plans are in a very early stage, there’s still time to let your opinion be known. |
