This general opening is the last step of a process started in December 2014. Afnic choosed a graduated opening, with several phases, designed to respect the rights of each party.
More than 560 short .fr names were registered during the sunrise and landrush periods.
Today, a few .fr domains names in 1 and 2 characters (mainly IDNs) are still available.
